THE TAKEAWAY, BEFORE THE SCROLL

An improvement should make your evidence easier to understand without changing what you actually did.

You do not need to rewrite every line to improve a resume. First decide what is wrong. A missing phone number in extracted text needs a different repair from a vague experience bullet.

Start with the file, then the writing

Open your original file and check that the name, contact information, job titles, employers and dates are readable. Use an ATS check if you want help spotting extraction and structure issues. Read the findings behind the score. A score is not a prediction of being hired.

If the words are already right, import and edit your resume. You can change the design and edit directly without requesting a bulk rewrite. Guul uses AI to read and structure the import. That is separate from asking AI to improve the wording.

DON’T JUST READ IT. PLAY WITH IT.

Same story. A little more breathing room.

Switch the layout. Watch how spacing and hierarchy change the way this sample reads.

Same words. Different presentation.

Everything is asking for attention.

Closely packed headings and text leave fewer visual signposts. Try the other treatment.

Set aside the facts that must stay fixed

Before reviewing suggestions, keep the original alongside you. Check these facts in every proposed version:

  • Employers, job titles and dates.
  • Numbers, units and the period they describe.
  • Qualifications, education and certifications.
  • Whether you led, supported or participated in an activity.

The last distinction is easy to miss. A stronger verb can change the claim. If you assisted with a project, a rewrite that says you led it needs to be rejected unless you actually led it. A management title alone does not establish ownership of every activity.

Give each bullet one clear job

Look for the action, the context and the result you can support. Remove repetition. Replace vague descriptions with details you know. If you do not have a measured result, explain the work clearly without making up a percentage.

Do not add a number because an automated checker asks for metrics. A truthful description of the system you maintained, the work you delivered or the people you supported can be useful evidence on its own.

Review AI as a proposed edit

Guul Magic starts with a check of your uploaded file. You can then import it, review paid access and request suggestions for the summary and experience bullets. The original wording stays in the editor until you apply the reviewed changes.

One Resume includes one successful Magic improvement for its unlocked resume. Pro uses its existing resume AI allowance. Prices and current plan limits are on the pricing page. Failed runs and runs that find no safe changes return the allowance. A completed improvement uses an allowance even if you decide not to apply it.

Check each suggestion for meaning, not just style. Make sure it describes the same work, at the same level of responsibility, with the same evidence. AI facts checks are a safeguard; your own review still matters.

Check the version you will actually send

The score from your uploaded file remains a score of that file. A rebuilt layout or a wording edit creates a different version. Use the editor's ATS panel to inspect the current resume, and distinguish its local preview from a server-verified result.

Preview the finished pages. Check line breaks, dates and section order. Then review the fields an employer's application form extracts from the downloaded file. Different systems can read the same document differently.

Keep the original file. The goal is a clearer account of your experience that you can stand behind in a conversation.
