Structured for project-based careers. This template presents multiple client engagements, industry expertise, and measurable project outcomes in the format that consulting firms and corporate hiring managers expect.
Consulting careers don't fit neatly into the standard employer-role-dates format. You may have served 15 clients across 6 industries in a single year. This template uses a project-based structure that highlights client engagements, your role and deliverables, and measurable business outcomes — whether you're at a Big Four firm, a boutique consultancy, or working independently.
Group engagements under your consulting firm or independent practice. For each engagement, include: client industry (not name, unless permitted), engagement type (strategy, implementation, assessment), your role, team size, duration, and measurable outcome. Prioritize your 4-6 most impressive engagements rather than listing every project.
Only if you have explicit permission or the engagement is publicly known (published case study, conference presentation). Otherwise, use descriptors: 'Fortune 100 healthcare company,' 'Mid-market SaaS company ($50M ARR),' or 'Regional bank with 200 branches.' The industry, company size, and project scope matter more than the name.
Translate consulting language to corporate language. Instead of 'engagement,' say 'project.' Instead of 'client,' specify the industry context. Emphasize depth of experience in the target industry rather than breadth across industries. Show that you can execute long-term, not just advise and leave. Highlight implementation experience, not just strategy.
