What this tool checks—and what it does not
Recruiters and applicant tracking software filter applications by searching for exact skill names, certifications, degree titles, and spoken language levels. If a vacancy asks for PostgreSQL and CI/CD, listing only “relational databases and deployment scripts” can cause a keyword search to miss your profile.
This browser utility performs a deterministic text comparison. It does not score your whole document layout, inspect PDF reading order, or predict whether an employer will invite you to interview. Never paste a block of hidden text or add skills you cannot support in conversation.
This diagnostic is free. In the Guul resume builder, full multi-platform ATS reports and PDF or Word (.docx) downloads require a paid pass such as One Resume or Pro Monthly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this job description keyword finder work?
It runs deterministically in your browser. It scans the job description for technical terms, tools, frameworks, certifications, degree classifications, and CEFR language levels (A1–C2), filters out common recruitment filler words, and checks which terms appear in your pasted resume or CV text.
Should I add every missing keyword to my resume?
No. Only add skills, tools, certifications, or language levels that you genuinely hold and can explain in an interview. Often a missing term is a tool you have used under a different name or omitted from an older role—add those truthful matches inside your experience bullets and skills section.
Does this tool upload my resume or job description to a server?
No. All text comparison happens in your browser memory. Nothing is sent to an external server or AI service.
