Keep section headings on their own lines so the diagnostic can inspect your structure and employment dates.

Runs 100% locally in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent to a server.

Paste your resume above or click “Try an example (US & Canada)” to inspect section headings and employment date formats.

Scope and methodology

This check scans standalone heading lines and date expressions against a deterministic dictionary of English and European CV labels (including Berufserfahrung, Ausbildung, Expérience professionnelle, Experiencia laboral, Esperienza lavorativa, Werkervaring, Arbetslivserfarenhet, and Doświadczenie zawodowe). It also flags personal demographic details (such as Date of Birth or Marital Status) when you select US & Canada or UK & Ireland.

Because it inspects pasted plain text, it does not test multi-column PDF reading order or visual table layout. To inspect how a PDF file’s text layer extracts in order, use our PDF text check or run a full document check. Creating PDF or Word (.docx) exports in the resume builder requires a paid pass such as One Resume or Pro Monthly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do creative section headings like "My Journey" or "My Toolbox" cause problems?

Applicant tracking software segments your resume by looking for known section headers such as "Work Experience", "Education", and "Skills" (or regional equivalents like "Berufserfahrung" and "Expérience professionnelle"). Unfamiliar titles can cause a section to be skipped or merged into the section above it.

Why are seasonal dates like "Spring 2022" flagged?

Hiring platforms such as Workday, Taleo, Greenhouse, and Personio store employment dates as calendar months and years. Because "Spring" or "Summer" does not map to a single month, the software may drop the date or require you to re-enter your timeline manually.

Can I use dot-separated dates like 03.2022?

In Germany, Austria, Switzerland (DACH), and Poland, MM.YYYY (03.2022) is the standard numeric convention. For applications in the United States, Canada, the UK, and Ireland, written months ("Mar 2022") or slashes ("03/2022") are safer and more widely expected.
