Dear [Hiring manager's name],
At Brightfield Pharma Distribution I build and maintain about 35 Tableau dashboards that our sales leadership team uses to track rep performance and territory coverage across 12 separate regions nationwide. I'm applying for the Tableau Developer role because your posting describes that same hands-on dashboard-building ownership across a large, active user base.
I rebuilt our territory-coverage dashboard using a custom calculation framework that replaced a set of manually maintained spreadsheets, cutting the monthly update process from about two days to two hours. I also optimized our slowest dashboard, which sales leadership complained took nearly a minute to load, cutting load time to under five seconds by restructuring extracts and reducing unnecessary calculated fields.
I build primarily in Tableau Desktop and publish to Tableau Server, write LOD expressions and table calculations every day, and test every dashboard on the same hardware and network our field sales team actually uses daily. I've trained one junior developer on our dashboard build standards this year.
I'd welcome the chance to walk through the territory-coverage rebuild and hear about the dashboard challenges [Company name]'s sales team is facing. I'm glad to work through a Tableau exercise in an interview. Thank you for considering my application.
Kind regards,
Avery King
