Dear [Hiring manager's name],
I test every release of our patient-portal application at Solace Health Software before it reaches the 40,000 patients who use it, which means I'm the person who has to think like a confused, possibly anxious patient clicking the wrong button at the wrong time, not just an engineer following a script. I'm applying to [Company name] because I want to keep testing products where getting it wrong actually matters to someone.
Writing an automated regression suite in Cypress for our twenty highest-traffic user flows caught 18 regressions before release in its first six months that our manual smoke tests had been missing, and cut our pre-release testing time from three days to one. I also built a test-case library organized by real patient scenarios instead of by feature, which two newer testers now use to onboard in half the time.
I write test plans directly from user stories, run both automated Cypress suites and manual exploratory testing for anything involving sensitive patient data, and file bugs detailed enough that a developer can reproduce them on the first try. I hold an ISTQB Foundation Level certification and I'm currently studying for the Advanced Test Analyst exam.
I'd welcome a conversation about which releases at [Company name] currently carry the most testing risk and where someone who tests like a real, anxious user could help. I'm available for an interview at your convenience. Thank you for considering my application.
Best regards,
Riley Kim
