There is no universal ATS score shared by employers and third-party checkers. Tools can use different inputs, weights and methods. Guul distinguishes its own resume checks from job-match analysis; neither is a score retrieved from the employer’s recruiting system.
Know which score you are reading
A resume-format check, a comparison with a job description and an employer’s configured matching tool answer different questions. Read the method and inputs before comparing their numbers. It is inaccurate to say every third-party checker uses only simple keyword counting.
Employers may use matching tools
SmartRecruiters has documented SmartAssistant match scores, and Jobvite advertises AI-assisted matching. Their existence disproves a blanket claim that employers never use automated matching or ranking. It does not reveal any one employer’s threshold or decision process.
Turn feedback into truthful edits
Check whether a suggested term describes experience you actually have. Improve unclear evidence or missing context, but do not copy requirements you cannot support. Guul does not automatically provide an employer with your checker result; a report can still be seen if you choose to share it.
- Check the score’s inputs and methodology
- Distinguish formatting from job fit
- Add evidence only for experience you have
- Do not treat a score as an interview probability
