Why this shape

Some careers are easier to read as a skills profile beside a work history than as one long column. This template gives that profile its own rail: contact details, skill bars, language bars and credentials sit on the left, and the main column opens each role with a one-line header so the bullets start sooner. It is designed for analyst, specialist, coordinator, manager and engineer roles in technology, business, consulting, marketing and operations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the skill levels drawn as bars?

Bars let a human reader compare depth at a glance. A machine reads only the skill name beside each bar, so keep the names precise and use the main column for evidence of how you used them.

Can I use this template for an online application?

You can, but the sidebar is a layout some applicant tracking systems read into the main column, and our checker flags multi-column layouts for this reason. For job portals, a single-column template such as ATS-Optimized is the safer file; keep this one for email and in-person.

What goes in the rail if I have few certifications?

Leave the credentials block out. The rail is built from optional blocks, and the skills and languages alone fill it well at most career stages.
