Poland CV Guide (A4): Structure, RODO Consent & Job Portals

Format a clear one-to-two page A4 CV in Polish or English for employers in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Poznań, and Katowice.

Published by Guul

Across Poland's technology centres, shared-service hubs (BPO/SSC), engineering firms, and domestic enterprises, recruiters expect a well-structured one-to-two page A4 CV (życiorys zawodowy). Whether you apply in Polish on Pracuj.pl, No Fluff Jobs, or Just Join IT, or in English to an international engineering or finance team, your CV should combine reverse-chronological MM.yyyy dates, concrete achievements, accurate degree titles. Check separately whether an employer requests consent for an additional purpose, such as future recruitment.

Structure your A4 CV and leave PESEL and street details off

Format your CV on ISO A4 paper (210 × 297 mm) in one to two pages. Under Article 22¹ of the Polish Labour Code (Kodeks pracy), employers only require basic contact and qualification details during recruitment—never include your PESEL national identification number, ID card number, parents' names, or marital status on a CV.

Place your name, city, +48 phone number, email address, and LinkedIn or GitHub URL at the top of page one, followed by a concise professional summary (Podsumowanie zawodowe), reverse-chronological Work Experience (Doświadczenie zawodowe) with MM.yyyy dates, Education (Wykształcenie), and Skills/Languages (Umiejętności i Języki).

Present Polish and international degrees and CEFR language levels clearly

Write academic credentials with the exact title awarded—such as Licencjat, Inżynier (inż.), Magister (mgr), Magister inżynier (mgr inż.), or an international bachelor's or master's degree—alongside the university name and graduation year. When writing an English CV for a multinational employer in Poland, you can note the equivalent degree level (for example, MSc in Computer Science (Magister inżynier)).

State English, Polish, German, and any other language skills using objective CEFR levels (B1, B2, C1, C2, or Ojczysty / Native) so international shared-service and engineering recruiters can verify your working languages immediately.

Check whether RODO consent applies and verify Polish diacritics in your PDF

For the basic personal and qualification data needed for the current recruitment, Polish law does not require a separate consent clause. Consent may be needed for a specific additional purpose, such as keeping your details for future vacancies. Read the employer’s instructions and any portal consent options; add purpose-specific wording only when applicable. Do not treat a generic footer as a statutory requirement.

Before uploading to Pracuj.pl, SmartRecruiters, Workday, or SAP SuccessFactors, run your exported A4 PDF through the browser PDF text check to confirm that Polish diacritics (ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź, ż) extract cleanly without missing letters.

Frequently asked questions

Why should I remove the 1997 data protection act formula from my Polish CV?

That formula refers to the former 1997 personal data protection law. Do not replace it automatically with a generic GDPR clause. Basic recruitment data does not require a separate consent statement; follow applicable employer instructions for a specific additional purpose, such as future recruitment.

Should I send my CV in Polish or English for IT and BPO/SSC jobs in Poland?

Follow the language of the job posting: English-language adverts on No Fluff Jobs, Just Join IT, or multinational career portals expect an English A4 CV, while Polish-language adverts expect a Polish CV.
