LinkedIn to resume: fix an incomplete import without retyping everything
Guul never signs in to LinkedIn. You upload the PDF LinkedIn makes with Save to PDF, or paste the public text of your profile. The import can miss recommendations, media, or custom sections, or put headings in an odd order. That is normal, and it is no reason to start a resume-builder trial that turns into a subscription. This guide shows how to finish: keep the PDF, paste the missing bullets, check which heading each section landed under, then download once when you are ready.
Keep the LinkedIn PDF and your own text
- On LinkedIn, open More (⋯), then Save to PDF, and store that file on your device.
- Copy any text the PDF left out (About, projects, volunteer work) into a plain text note.
- Do not paste your LinkedIn password into outside “profile sync” tools.
- If you already started a draft somewhere else, keep that export too before you switch tools.
How to finish your resume on Guul when the LinkedIn import is incomplete
- 1
Save your LinkedIn profile as a PDF
Open your LinkedIn profile, select More (⋯), then Save to PDF. Guul reads that file. Guul never connects to your LinkedIn account.
- 2
Start from the LinkedIn Resume Builder or Resume Rescue
The LinkedIn Resume Builder page walks through the full import. Or open Resume Rescue and upload the PDF. Check that each section landed under the right heading before you save.
Open the LinkedIn Resume Builder - 3
Fill gaps by pasting, not with another trial
If Experience or Education looks thin, paste the missing text from your LinkedIn page or notes into those sections in the editor. Accurate bullets matter more than a fancy layout.

Download once when the draft is ready to send
Buy One Resume ($4.99 USD, one time) when you need the file. It gives unlimited PDF and Word downloads of that one resume for 30 days from purchase, with no renewal, and files are never watermarked. If you only need one PDF, you don’t need a trial.

Menus change. Verify the Save to PDF option on your live LinkedIn profile, and the current import steps on Guul’s LinkedIn Resume Builder page.
What the LinkedIn import can and cannot do
Guul does not connect to your LinkedIn account, read private data, or promise that every LinkedIn field will import perfectly. Guul cannot cancel a trial you started with another builder while looking for a way to export from LinkedIn.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Guul log in to LinkedIn for me?
No. Guul never asks for your LinkedIn password or access to your account. You upload LinkedIn’s PDF or paste text you can already see.
Why is my import missing About or projects?
LinkedIn’s Save to PDF is a printout of your profile. Some text and media never appear in that file. Paste those sections in yourself after the import.
How is this different from the LinkedIn Resume Builder page?
The LinkedIn Resume Builder page walks through the full import. This guide is for when the import comes out incomplete. Guul’s app also has its own LinkedIn import option.
Should I buy a subscription just to export LinkedIn?
Usually not, if you only need one PDF to apply. Import free, then buy One Resume ($4.99, one time) for unlimited PDF and Word downloads of that one resume for 30 days from purchase, with no renewal. If you already started another trial, cancel it through that builder’s official steps.
Already have the text? Import it free on Guul and review it. Then buy the One Resume for $4.99 USD one time (₹299 for purchases made from India). It gives unlimited PDF and Word downloads of that one resume for 30 days from purchase, with no renewal.
Finish the LinkedIn draft without another renewing trial
Import or paste free on Resume Rescue. For PDF and Word files of one resume, One Resume costs $4.99 USD once and gives unlimited PDF and Word downloads of that one resume for 30 days from purchase, with no renewal. Never watermarked.
