Guul vs Kickresume: truth-preserving AI edits or open-ended AI writing?
Kickresume combines visual templates, an AI writer and promotional first-term subscription plans. Guul checks AI suggestions against your original employers, dates and numbers, shows explainable ATS field simulations, and offers One Resume as a one-time purchase.
Overview
Kickresume offers resume and cover-letter templates with AI writing tools and recurring plans that may display promotional first-term pricing. Guul focuses on keeping your factual work history intact while preparing your file for applicant tracking systems. You can import and edit free in Guul, verify that AI rewrites do not invent employers or metrics, and buy One Resume ($4.99 USD one time for 30 days) when you are ready to download.
What Kickresume offers
Kickresume offers resume and cover-letter tools with AI assistance and premium plans. The pricing page displayed a promotion for the first billing term when reviewed. Promotional first-term prices should not be treated as permanent renewal prices.
What Guul offers
Import and edit free. PDF, Word and plain-text downloads require One Resume or a qualifying plan. One Resume costs $4.99 USD one time and gives unlimited PDF, Word and plain-text downloads of that one resume for 30 days from purchase. It does not renew. Guul also offers recurring plans. Check the local price and scope before purchasing.

Truth-preserving AI versus open-ended AI text generation
Generative AI tools can quickly produce polished sentences, but open-ended prompts can also introduce tools, revenue percentages or responsibilities you never held. Discovering an invented claim during a live interview is worse than having a plain bullet point. Guul’s editing workflow compares proposed wording against your source resume to flag unsupported numbers, skills or employers. Review every change yourself so every line on your exported PDF or Word file is something you can defend in an interview.
Promotional subscription tiers versus a single-resume pass
When Kickresume’s pricing page was reviewed on September 13, 2026, it displayed a promotional price for the first billing term. Promotional first-term discounts renew at the standard recurring rate unless cancelled. If you only need to finish and download one resume, Guul’s One Resume ($4.99 USD one time) gives unlimited PDF, Word and plain-text downloads of that one resume for 30 days from purchase and never renews.

When Kickresume may fit better
Kickresume may be a better fit if its visual templates, writing assistance and related tools are central to your workflow. Try the actual editing flow before deciding only on price.
How to keep and move your draft
Keep a copy before accepting a large rewrite. Export a document you can access or copy your text, then import it into Guul. Compare every date, number and responsibility with the source; AI wording is not evidence that a statement is true.
Paste your own resume text into Guul. Review the imported document before buying downloads.
Before you buy or cancel
Check the renewal price after any promotion, the current AI allowance and how to recover an earlier version before editing a final resume.

Need to cancel Kickresume first?
Official cancel steps with dated sources. Importing into Guul does not stop the old subscription.
Cancel control missing? Email / phone / ticket playbook. Charged after you canceled? Still-charging checklist.
Already started drafting in Kickresume?
Bring your own text into Guul and review the result. Importing is free; PDF, Word and plain-text downloads require a one-time purchase or a Pro plan.
Before you decide
- Check the renewal price after any promotion, the current AI allowance and how to recover an earlier version before editing a final resume.
- List the document formats you need before comparing plans. An editable Word file, a finished PDF and a builder’s internal project data are different outputs.
- Save the exact resume you submit and the job description it targets. Keep a separate editable copy so your next application does not depend on continued access to one account.
- Try the editing controls with your own material, inspect a permitted export and check the full checkout commitment. Do not buy a second product just to resolve a billing question with the first.

Beyond the resume download
Kickresume is worth considering if design choice, mobile apps and a resume website are priorities. Free includes basic resume, cover-letter and website templates with unlimited downloads. Premium expands these options.
