Still being charged after you canceled? A calm checklist
People often post about a charge that appears after they believe they canceled. Sometimes the cancel never went through. Sometimes the charge covers a paid period that was still running. Sometimes a second subscription is still active, including one billed through a payment company like Paddle. Work through the checklist below with your dates and the official pages before you assume the worst. Guul cannot cancel or refund another company’s charge for you.
Gather proof first
- Save the cancellation confirmation email, ticket number, or a screenshot of the confirmation in the app.
- Check spam and junk for “cancel” and “subscription,” and for mail from payment companies or the builder (Paddle, Auxiliant, builder support).
- Compare the statement charge date with the cancel confirmation date and any stated end date for your access.
- List every email address that might have a builder account on this card.
What to check when a charge appears after you cancel
- 1
Make sure the cancel actually went through
Open the builder account or official cancel page again. Resume.io, Resume Genius, and others publish their own cancel steps. If My Plan or My Subscription still shows as active, finish canceling and save the new confirmation.
- 2
Ask for the end date in writing
Many terms end your access at the end of the period, not the moment you click. Email or chat with support using your account email, and ask which period the new charge covers.
- 3
Check payment-company portals (especially Paddle)
Paddle’s FAQ notes that you may have more than one subscription billed through Paddle, and that paddle.net can show what you were billed for after canceling. Look there before you open a bank dispute.

Canceling and refunds are separate
Canceling stops future renewals, under the builder’s rules. A refund for a past charge is a separate request, under the policy of that builder or its payment company. Guul does not process other companies’ refunds.

Keep your resume text either way
Export or copy your draft before your access changes. If you still need a PDF, import on Guul Resume Rescue and buy One Resume ($4.99, one time), which gives unlimited PDF and Word downloads of that one resume for 30 days from purchase, with no renewal. Importing does not stop the other bill.
Open Resume Rescue
Renewal timing and refund windows differ by builder and country. Verify with written confirmation from the builder or its payment company rather than screenshots on social media.
What this checklist can and cannot do
This page is a checklist. It is not legal advice, and it does not claim that any company mishandled billing. Guul cannot file a chargeback for you or say that another company broke the law. For general consumer reading on trials and auto-renewals, see the FTC guide listed under Sources.

Frequently Asked Questions
I canceled. Why was I charged again?
Common reasons: the cancel was not fully confirmed, the charge covers the current paid period, there is a second account or email, or a payment company (like Paddle) still shows an active subscription. Compare the dates with your confirmation.
Does deleting my account stop billing?
Not reliably. Cancel billing first and keep the confirmation, then think about deleting. Our cancel guides explain the difference between canceling and deleting.
Will Guul dispute the charge with my bank?
No. Contact the builder or its payment company first, with your proof.
