Changing builders should give you a useful document without losing work you already own. This guide covers moving content from Resume.io into another editing workflow, including Guul. It does not cancel an account, bypass a paid export or promise to reproduce the original design exactly.
Start here
- Check whether the template you want has a free export, which plan checkout selects, and the next renewal date. Moving a document does not cancel a Resume.io subscription.
- Keep the original and review the new file before replacing your submission copy.
Preserve your work first
Use an export already available in your account, or copy your own text. The Resume.io help center describes TXT export and the Vancouver free PDF option. Preserve a copy before changing any subscription. Import your text or PDF into Guul and compare names, dates and section order with the original.
Choose TXT, a permitted PDF or your own text
Resume.io’s help center describes TXT export and the Vancouver free PDF option. Check the options in your own account, because availability can change. If plain text is enough to rebuild the resume, preserve that before considering another paid plan. Keep a screenshot only as a visual reference, not as the only source of editable content.
A text export preserves words rather than the original template. A PDF may preserve appearance but still need cleanup after import. Choose based on what is available to you and the amount of reconstruction you are willing to do.
Review the new section boundaries
Check whether a job title, employer and date range remain together. Compare the contact block and the last role, then inspect education and any custom sections. If columns are interleaved, paste corrected text instead of repeating the same import.
Keep your original file until the new resume has been exported and opened. A better-looking preview is not proof that every bullet transferred. Review any AI wording as a separate change; moving tools is not a reason to alter the facts.
Review the purchase separately from the document
Compare the entire renewal period with the one document you need. Four weeks is a 28-day billing period, not a calendar month. Guul also sells recurring plans, so choose One Resume specifically if renewal is the concern.

Compare the free layout before buying another export
If the Vancouver layout available in your account meets the application requirements, opening that PDF may be the last step you need. Check whether its text can be selected and whether links work. A free layout can be a better fit than switching tools solely because a different template was paid.
If you rebuild in Guul, inspect the first and last line of every role against your TXT backup. These boundaries are easy to lose when a visual document becomes structured content. Decide on a Guul pass or plan only after the editable preview contains the complete history; PDF, Word and plain-text exports are paid.
Check currency and renewal when applying from India
Keep the original service’s billing information separate from your new document. A price quoted in US dollars on a comparison page is not a verified Indian checkout offer. Confirm the currency, next charge and cancellation status in your own account. When moving the resume, check Indian qualification names, score labels and any project links rather than accepting the import without review. Use the employer’s required file format for the next application.
