Cancel through the service or purchase channel that bills you. Moving a resume to a different builder does not stop the old subscription. Deleting a document, uninstalling an app and deleting an account are also different actions from cancelling recurring billing.
Start here
- Cancel through the service or purchase channel that bills you.
- Preserve the files and cancellation confirmation you need first. Account deletion may remove access to documents or receipts without answering what happens to an existing subscription.
A practical checklist
First save an available export and the text you need. Find the original receipt and identify whether you paid on the website or through an app store. Open that account’s billing or subscription controls and follow its current cancellation instructions. Read the final confirmation, the effective end date and any remaining access. Keep a dated copy. If the controls are unclear, contact the vendor through its official site using the receipt reference.
Mistakes and limits to keep in mind
A refund is a separate request and depends on the applicable terms and circumstances. Do not assume a cancellation reverses an earlier payment. Avoid posting card numbers, full bank details or an unredacted resume in a public complaint. If a new charge appears, compare its date with the cancellation confirmation and ask the billing provider to explain it.
Match the subscription to the correct account
Start with the receipt, not the logo on a bank statement. Compare the email address, service name and purchase channel with the account you are viewing. A login created with a social provider can differ from another login using the same-looking email. If you have several accounts, do not delete one before identifying which one owns the subscription.
Use a support link from the official vendor site. A search result or social reply offering to cancel on your behalf is not a reason to share a password or payment details.
Keep a clear record if access or charges disagree
Save the cancellation date, confirmation message, order reference and stated access end date together. If a charge appears later, ask the provider to explain which billing period it covers. Distinguish a pending authorization from a completed payment by checking the payment provider’s own record.
Describe the problem with dates and references rather than posting an entire statement. A refund request and a cancellation request may have different outcomes. Guul cannot inspect or alter another company’s billing account.
Guul’s cancel guides for specific builders
For the builders people most often want to cancel, Guul publishes step-by-step guides. Each one links the company’s official Contact or FAQ page first and shows the date we checked it. Guides cover Zety, Resume.io, MyPerfectResume, Resume Now, Resume Genius, LiveCareer, Enhancv, Teal+ and Kickresume. They are linked at the end of this page.
If the in-app Cancel button does not work, use the guide for a missing or broken cancel button. It covers email, phone and getting a ticket number. There are also guides for card charges you do not recognise and for charges that continue after you cancel.
These guides do not invent menu steps a company has not published. They remind you that cancelling is not a refund, and that importing a draft into Guul does not stop the old subscription.

Cancel is not the same as deleting your account
Canceling recurring billing stops future renewals (or ends them at the stated period end). Deleting an account, removing a resume document, or uninstalling an app can leave a subscription running if billing was not canceled first.
Before you delete anything: save exports, cancel through the official billing controls or Contact path, and keep the confirmation email or cancellation number. If a charge appears later, compare its date to that confirmation and ask the vendor which period it covers.
